This week, Kacey from Maine wrote in to nominate a very special person in her life – her mom! She writes:
Dear Kix,
I am more than proud to nominate my incredible mother for Hero of the Week! I am so grateful to my mom…
A few years ago, I developed an autoimmune disorder. After being turned away from every doctor we went to, my mom decided to put aside everything in her life and start her own research, trying to find answers. She helped line up treatments that started to work for me.
I am doing better than I ever thought I could! I’m even back to riding my horse Mighty Mouse! I’m 16 years old, and I just want everyone to know how thankful I am to have such an incredible mom!

Well, Kacey, you’re not gonna believe this but I also have a horse named Mighty Mouse!
And, you know what? As great as doctors are, it takes a loving family to really bring on that good medicine. So, we’re really glad you’re doing better! Way to go, Mom!
