Our Kidde Hero of the Week spotlights Josh Rifkind and his Song For Kids Foundation.

Recently, Kix found this story on People Magazine's website and wanted to share it with you!

Josh Rifkind launched the Songs For Kids Foundation organization back in 2007 with the mission to enrich the lives of children suffering from illness and hardship. The organization is made up of a rotating cast of musicians who develop sets, rehearse, and perform music.  The music ranges from covers of Taylor Swift songs to "Old MacDonald,” and it’s all for FREE for thousands of sick kids at more than 250 hospitals across the country.

Josh and his fellow musicians often set up shop in the lobby or at the bedside of a child and sometimes they even help kids record their own songs. Families say Josh's music and friendly manner lifts their children's spirits in the toughest times.

Songs For Kids is now in four states and currently services all of the children's hospitals in Georgia, in addition to two hospitals in Los Angeles, one in Orange County, one in Spokane, WA and two in Charlotte, NC.

For more information on Songs For Kids and how you can donate to the cause, visit their official website. Check out the good work they do in this video:

Kix's Response:

I love hearing about fellow musicians stepping up. Share your gift if you can!
